Registering your interest with techcen and registration on the Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) NVQ is straightforward.  If you are interested in being part of the next techcen cohort , please download and complete this document and fax, post or email to us. We will contact you as soon as funding for November 2008 onwards is confirmed.

techcen strongly recommend that you join the appropriate subject association: The Design and Technology Associatio www.data.org.uk

or The Association for Science Education www.ase.org.uk

Both associations aim to provide direct support for them in offering advice in areas ranging from organising stock, health and safety and working with students.

Their websites will be particularly useful to technicians as an initial source of information and provide links to many other sites of specific interest to their subject area.

Both associations have a specific technician category of membership which will provide you with support and advice on your day to day work as a technician and completing the LATA award. In addition you will benefit from reduced LATA NVQ fees if you are a member.
